Introduction

Since its foundation as a small study group based in Osaka, Japan in 1970, SCSTS has grown into an association of more than 500 membership led by 16 board members. The association annually organizes three seminars and two sessions of the basic level education on sterile service. An attendance of a seminar, which is open to non-members, is 500 to 700 while about 200 people participate in a basic education session.

The SCSTS strives to provide the members with information from a global perspective instead of just focusing on issues and solutions in Japan. To this end, we invited guest speakers to the seminars from England, Germany and the United States.

To further facilitate information exchange among the members, the SCSTS recently set up its web site, which was its longstanding dream.
