The Disinfection and Sterilization Association of Macedonia - Aсоцијација за дезинфекција и стерилизација на Македонија was founded in Skopje in March 2009, with more than 20 members.

DSAM Members

The members of DSAM are CSSD manager and workers, infection control and OP nurses, doctors, pharmacists, microbiologists, engineers, etc.

DSAM Activities

The goals of DSAM:

• Develop and popularise the fields of sterile supply, hospital hygiene and infection control and technical services of sterilisation and disinfection equipment.

The tasks of DSAM:

• Organize seminars, conferences, workshops and professional courses for sterile supply, hygiene and infection control staff as well as research projects.
• Providing continued education courses to make the professionals and supervisors capable of preparing instruments and devices at the proper quality, reducing costs and avoiding errors in sterile supply departments.
• Promote collaboration between the association and medical institutions.
• Cooperation with other European associations and the WFHSS, etc.

Location

The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R.O.M.) is in Southeastern Europe, north of Greece. With a total of 766 km land boundaries, Macedonia shares borders with Albania (151 km), Bulgaria (148 km), Greece (246 km) and Yugoslavia (221 km). Macedonias territory is mountainous, covered with deep basins and valleys. There are three large lakes, each divided by a frontier line. The country bisected by the Vardar River.
